  • Desperate help needed! Firmware update went wrong

Posted by mjas on October 14, 2025 at 6:27 pm

    Dear all,

I have a problem with my Pytes batteries.

My system is a Deye Sun8k inverter with 3 Pytes batteries.
Two of them (named A and B) are operting since August 2023 well and the third one (named C) I got delivered last week.

When I connected C to the system, master A resulted in an constant accustic alarm with all LED on.
A reset of all batteries didnt help.
Since I read about different firmwares I assumed, that I had the same problem, but then, all went wrong, I started too quick, got in panic and forgot to check system settings and logging of all steps.

Step by step as I remember:
I downloaded all files from Pytes and started with “C8 to C16 upgrade guide and firmware” on battery B.
Bootloader and first firmware update to C8 went ok.
Then the battery started with the message “Slave addr request xx”.
The second update to c16 resulted in an error message, that I didnt remember and didnt made any logging of the messages.
I can login, can type in “info”, but in Hyper terminal the slave addr request is constantly showing up.

Despite the error message on battery B, I thought, maybe the master battery A must also be upgraded:
    I started with the bootloader.
I cannot remember, what message came up (success/error).
Next step I cannot remember either, if I cannot type “login debug” next or if the first firmware update went wrong.

Now battery A is showing me no reaction, when turning on.
Only the starting LED is on, no other.
    Reset did not help.
On console connection now, I cannot type anything in.

Please see attached a picture with the settings, as far I can read out of the batteries.

In the moment, all batteries are still connected to the system, but turned off.

Please (desperate please!) advise, what steps I can do, in order to get battery A working again.
    That is my main problem.
In a separate step, what is needed to make all batteries working fine together.

Sorry for my bad english 🙈

Thank you very very much for any help!

    Kind regards,
    Martin
