  • Do V5 battery groups in parallel need to be the same size?

Posted by ruisseau on May 14, 2026 at 5:05 pm

In the manual, it is said the V5 batteries can be connected in parallel in groups of 2 or 3, 3 being the maximum with the batt-to-batt busbars. Groups can then be joined onto busbars before connecting to the inverter.

What if the capacity required calls for 5 or 7 batteries? Can groups of 2 be joined with goups of 3 onto the same busbars? Will this cause problematic imbalances long term?

In contexte, the system I’m designing is for a backup application.

    Thanks,

Hi, can you tell me which inverter you are using and how many inverter, want know your inverter size. i can help you design system.
about your question, yes we can connect in a group of 2 and 3 with one busbar. Ideally each group should have same number of batteries

I plan on using the Sol-Ark 15K-2P, single inverter. The client needs between 25 and 40kWh of reserve, so between 5 and 8 V5° batteries. I was going to offer the V-Boc-IC for a safe and cleaner look.

6 batteries is easy, two groups of 3, in two enclosures

      5 batteries would mean a group of 3 + a group of 2, in two enclosures (?)

7 batteries would mean a group of 3 + two groups of 2, in three enclosures (?)

8 batteries would mean two groups of 3 + a group of 2, in three enclosures (?)

But I was wondering if I should use the parallel busbars in each enclosure, and then have each group joined on external busbars (i.e. Victron Lynx series) with the inverter, or have each battery cabled individually onto (larger) busbars.

    1. If you are using only one 15kw inverter, you can use 4 V5 batteries in parallel in one group because battery current (275A) of inverter will be divided, so it will be within limits of battery.
    2. We have some other cabinet that can support 4 batteries in one cabinet, also has built in busbar. in this situation you will need two cabinet and 8 batteries
Can you share your location(Country/city) with me, also share your email or other contact information. I shall let our product manager for your specific region guide you, it will be more convenient for you.
