Unresponsive E-Box 48100R after firmware update
During a firmware update a battery accidentally got the boot loader firmware chosen for the firmware. After that the battery will not respond to any queries. The serial connection shows the boot loader message on power on but nothing else. Is there anything that can be done to restore the battery?

I was able to resolve the issue but not without some headache. I’ll try to keep this brief while still explaining the solution well enough to understand it and the problem.
The instructions for the Windows battery software is poor. If you pay attention to the details of the wake battery (recover) it says to switch on the battery and within a few seconds press the red button. Then immediately use the wake battery button on the upgrade page in the software. I’m not sure what it’s doing in the background but that seems to work.
However in my case it didn’t. The reason was the batteries had boot loader 1.09 installed and shipped with 1.5.20 (this is from memory) the only firmware on the Pytes web sites is for 1.5.3x or some such. That will not work with boot loader 1.09. I found myself in a chicken and the egg situation. Fortunately I found a version of the firmware for my batteries on a forum that was 1.5.24 which is compatible with the 1.09 boot loader. I was able to use that with the wake (recover) battery option as instructed. Once the battery was running again I was able to update the boot loader to 1.14 (again from memory) which seem to be compatible with the latest firmware versions.
Further complicating things is the fact that there are at least three English language Pytes web sites. Each has a different set of firmware and tools to download. Using all three I was able to piece together the latest Windows battery software, boot loader and firmware.
This is all for the particular batteries I have which all happen to be revision C. I can’t speak to A or B. On a side note it’s interesting that the C revision batteries seem to be able to be flashed to a version of firmware that enables 16 batteries in one daisy chain instead of the original limitation of 8. How do you use the bootloader with the wake button? I have BMSQt on macOS (since the Windows version is buggy on my laptop and can’t see the buttons etc.) and nothing happens if I try to wake with the shown procedure. This was the info board before the crash (attachment). It is (was?) on V1.6 before I screwed up with a wrong bootloader and died. Contacted the support but something is wrong because I can’t wake the battery.
Okay, it’s finially done.
The Windows version do not work at all, glitching and has no Wake and other buttons.
I did it with macOS, looks like I had problems with the SW button / Wake button timing, tried 38 times and finially it allowed me to wake it.
